Saturday, September 26th 2026
11am - 11pm
Surya Rhythm Festival presents an extra special day as we warmly welcome one of the most wonderful musical partnerships in contemporary folk, Lisa Knapp and Gerry Diver.
Alongside their live performance, we’ll spend the day exploring different ways of experiencing music, sound and movement — from morning yoga & immersive sound journey, to song circle and voice activation, DJ sets, and an evening of dancing.
LISA KNAPP & GERRY DIVER
Lisa Knapp and Gerry Diver are a remarkable musical partnership at the forefront of contemporary folk. Lisa’s spellbinding vocals and command of traditional song blend seamlessly with Gerry’s acclaimed production and multi-instrumental talents. Together, they create richly textured, emotionally resonant music rooted in English and Irish traditions, layering twin fiddles, voice, percussion, autoharp, electronica and field recordings into bold, atmospheric arrangements. Their 2025 album Hinterland was praised as “Folk at its most exalted” by The Observer, “A marvel” by Mojo magazine, and “Utterly haunting” by Songlines. Their live shows bring the album to life with intimacy, innovation, and intensity.

QiGong & Sound Bath - Bell Tent
Mellor's Wood, Charley Road, Shepshed, Leicestershire
Friday, August 21st 2026
6pm - 8:30pm
Join me for an evening of Qigong & Sound Bath at the Mellor’s Wood.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice that combines gentle movement, breath and awareness to support the natural flow of energy throughout the body. Suitable for all levels, this simple yet powerful practice helps improve balance, mobility and relaxation.
During this session, we’ll explore gentle Qigong movements, breathing practices and the Six Healing Sounds—a traditional Qigong practice using specific sounds connected to the internal organs. Together, these practices help support the body’s natural energy, release tension and prepare the body and mind for the sound journey.
Afterwards, you’ll be invited to lie down and enjoy a deeply immersive Sound Journey with large gongs, singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments. The vibrations create space for deep relaxation and rest, allowing the body and mind to settle naturally.

Full Moon Gong Bath Extended 2 hour Journey - Bell Tent
Mellor's Wood, Charley Road, Shepshed, Leicestershire
Friday, August 28th 2026
6pm - 8:30pm
August’s Full Moon, known as the Sturgeon Moon, is traditionally associated with abundance, gratitude, and the wisdom that comes from trusting life’s natural cycles. As summer begins to soften towards autumn, it offers an opportunity to reflect on what has flourished, release what no longer serves you, and reconnect with what truly matters.
Held in the bell tent at Mellor’s Wood, this extended 2-hour Gong Bath will include a variety of therapeutic instruments, with the gongs being played for a longer, deeper immersion experience. A longer sound journey allows the body to settle more fully into relaxation, giving the nervous system time to slow down, release tension, quiet the mind, and support deep rest and restoration.
Arrive from 6:00pm for herbal teas and time to settle into the space before we begin.
Sound Journey: 6:30pm – 8:30pm
